Add Hyperlink

The Add Hyperlink button allows you to create a link to a web page and have that link displayed in the left (navigation) window pane of the GlobalViewer® web page.

You are able to:

• Create the text for a link

• Create a link to any valid web page

To add a hyperlink:

1. In the Device Locations section, click on a device location.  The Add Hyperlink button becomes active.

2. Click Add Hyperlink.  The Add Hyperlink dialog box opens (see below).

3. Enter unique hyperlink text (such as Go to Extron.com).

4. In the URL field, enter the desired URL (such as http://extron.com).

5. Select the Open link in a new browser window check box if desired.

6. Click OK.  The new hyperlink appears in the Device Locations section.

7. Build the changed configuration (see the Build Changed Configurations section).

To view and test the new hyperlink in the GlobalViewer web page:

1. In the IP Link Tree window, select a GlobalViewer host device.

2. Right-click on the host device name and select Open GlobalViewer®  Webpage from the drop-down list.  The GlobalViewer web page opens.

3. Expand the location folder by clicking the + sign.

4. Locate and click the new hyperlink in the left pane.

If you select Open link in a new browser window in the procedure above (step 5), the new web page opens in a new window.

If you did not select Open link in a new browser window in the procedure above (step 5), the new web page opens in the right window pane (as shown below).

Note:  Some web pages force the opening of a new window, regardless of the Open link in a new browser window setting.
