Two New Gang Box Mountable Twisted Pair Transmitters from Extron—The TP T 460 and TP T 468

Anaheim, California (June 13, 2001) - Extron Electronics is pleased to introduce two new models in our family of Twisted Pair transmitters and receivers: the TP T 460 and TP T 468 Twisted Pair Transceivers for two- and four- gang wall boxes. These transmitters are part of a versatile family of products that permit long-distance distribution of RGB video, component video, S-video, composite video, and stereo audio over shielded or unshielded twisted pair cable such as Category 5, 5e, and 6 cable. For simple and convenient installation in AV environments, both the TP T 460 and the TP T 468 are mountable in gang boxes—two- and four-gang, respectively. The TP T 460 and TP T 468 accept computer analog video and PC audio and transmit them up to 1,000 feet (304.8 m) over twisted pair cable to an Extron Twisted Pair Receiver. These transmitters take advantage of the smaller size, increased flexibility, and lower cost of twisted pair cable. The TP T 460 and the TP T 468 accept signals between a 15-130 kHz horizontal scan rate, and a 30-150 Hz vertical scan rate, and are compatible with nearly every computer signal type, including VGA through UXGA, Mac, Sun, and SGI. Computer video is input on a female 15-pin HD connector and transmitted on a female RJ-45 connector. The transmitters include a buffered local monitor output on a female 15-pin HD connector. Both feature ID bit termination on pins 4 and 11 of the 15-pin HD input. In addition to these features, the TP T 468 transmitter includes four spaces to fit Extron's optional Architectural Adapter Plates (AAPs) for cable pass-through connectors. Extron offers a wide variety of AAPs that can be used in literally hundreds of combinations with AV connectors to meet the needs of any system.
