Preset OverviewSee topics, Preset Save, and Preset Preview/Recall, for more information. The MPX Plus 866 A will store up to 32 presets. Presets saved via the DSP Configurator program are "partial presets." These partial presets may include all gain, processor, switcher matrix, and mic mixer settings, or just a portion of those elements, i.e., a partial preset may contain any combination of user-selected elements. When recalled, a partial preset will only overwrite the elements contained in the preset. Partial presets are useful when you wish to affect only the settings for a particular room or only certain elements of a configuration. Presets saved using the DSP Configurator can be recalled via the DSP Configurator, or a control system sending an SIS™ preset recall command. Presets 1 - 26 can be recalled via the Front Panel Control (FPC). Presets can also be saved using the FPC; however, presets saved in this manner are "global tie" presets. A global tie preset contains only the switcher matrix settings (ties), and will overwrite ALL of the switcher matrix settings when recalled. The Matrix Switcher Control Program and the standard SIS "save preset" command also save global tie presets. The DSP Configurator uses a proprietary SIS "save preset" command that only works with the DSP Configurator program. Normal workflow is to create a configuration and a set of presets in Emulate mode, save the file, and then push the file to the MPX Plus 866 A when connecting in Live mode. When a "pull data" synchronization method is performed, preset data remains in the device, and only the list of preset names is pulled from the device. Presets in this state are marked with an asterisk until that preset is recalled (which pulls the preset data from the device), or until a backup is performed (see Backup Device). Also see Emulate vs. Live Mode Operation for more information. When a preset is pulled from the device, the preset data remains in the device until the preset has been recalled. The DSP Configurator pulls the names of the presets only. Presets pulled from the device cannot be saved to disk until they have been recalled, at which time the preset data is pulled into the DSP Configurator. An asterisk next to the preset name indicates that the preset has been pulled from the device, and the preset data exists only in the device (it has not been recalled). Presets that were pushed to the device or created in the DSP Configurator in Live mode have no asterisk. Presets with no asterisk can be saved to disk. |
