Extron Introduces New MLC 52 IR and MLC 52 RS MediaLink® Controllers

Anaheim, CA (June 8, 2005) - Extron Electronics introduces the MLC 52 IR (IR only) and MLC 52 RS (IR + RS 232) Basic MediaLink controllers. These compact control panels are ideal for budget-conscious classroom presentation systems. Each backlit button can be easily configured for device power, volume, input selection or any IR/RS-232 command. Toggles or macros of up to four commands can be set for each button to facilitate easy AV system operation. "The MLC 52 series is designed to provide the basic control needs for low budget AV systems," says Lee Dodson, Vice President of marketing for Extron Electronics. "These units are the first step-up for removing the IR remote and standardizing on a consistent easy-to-use user interface" Installers will appreciate the three fast and easy configuration methods to setup the MLC 52 controllers: IR learning directly from other IR remotes, IR beaming duplicates complete configuration from one MLC 52 to another, or use Extron's easy-to-use configuration software along with one of our many predefined online RS 232 drivers for fast and simple setup. The MLM 52 VC is an optional, two-gang faceplate for the MLC 52 IR and MLC 52 RS. It features a volume knob (10k potentiometer), allowing for remote volume control of an Extron MPA 122 through its volume control port. It also frees up two front panel control buttons for additional functions.
